Challenge: Rimidi Diabetes empowers healthcare organizations to transform their delivery of diabetes care. Established in 2012, Rimidi’s Diabetes+Me™ cloud platform allows patients and providers to identify gaps in diabetes management, as well as the necessary steps to close those gaps, meet patient glucose targets and create a more efficient cycle of care. The result is more efficient healthcare delivery, improved patient quality of life, and decreased financial burden to patients and payors.
Like many startups, Rimidi needed a PR plan to get the word out about its business, but didn’t have the internal resources or expertise. The company had news to share, but, like most startups, didn’t know how to go about writing a press release or finding the right media contacts. They turned to Alpine for help.
From day one, Alpine Communications’ president Wendy Alpine knew Rimidi would be a great client and that Dr. Lucie Ide, its CEO, would be easy to work with. One thing that struck us was that Dr. Ide wanted to take a slow, steady approach to build its PR, instead of a one and done approach. She understood that PR is a long term process, but if you stick with it, you will reap big rewards for your company.
Among our first projects was a funding announcement with Cox Enterprises. Alpine worked strategically with the marketing professionals at Cox to develop a press release that both parties felt comfortable with. We then reached out to local and national media to share their story. The news of a major company supporting a health startup caught the attention of several local and national media outlets, including Reuters, the Atlanta Business Chronicle and several healthcare trade publications.
From there, we worked with Rimidi to submit the company for health and technology awards, including the Georgia Pharmacy Association’s Top 5 Companies to Watch and the Technology Association of Georgia’s Top 10 Innovative Companies Award. Additional accolades came, including recognition form the App Association as a Top 3 Technology to Watch and acceptance into a prestigious health accelerator program.
For Rimidi, Alpine works as a strategic partner, promoting the good news to the right audiences. From content marketing to press releases and media relations, Alpine serves as Rimidi’s No. 1 publicist, keeping it in the news on a continual basis.
As a result of our work, Rimidi has garnered media placements in national publications like Reuters and The Economist. They have a Press Room that’s chock full of current releases that reassures venture funders and customers that they are relevant and on the move. They have a PR publicist advocate that understands their business and gets results, including:
- Increased credibility
- Enhanced reputation
- Greater recognition
“Alpine Communications has a demonstrated expertise in today’s healthcare environment. They continue to help us meet our goals and objectives in creating awareness of our digital health tool, Diabetes+Me, through engaging content and significant media placements in local and national publications. Their ability to translate technical information into consumer language has helped us communicate our message with media, investors and patients.”
