WCG/Vertex Pharmaceuticals

Alpine Communications was hand-picked to be one of the 12 agencies across the country to promote a new drug for the treatment of hepatitis C. Starting in April 2011 with a trip to Boston, we met the WCG and Vertex team, as well as our colleagues who would be raising awareness of hep C in 11 other cities.

To date, Alpine has garnered media placements in the AJC, Dekalb Patch and the examiner.com. We have also talked to dozens of TV and radio health and assignment editors. More placements to come.

Here’s the AJC placement.

INCIVEK was recently approved by the FDA to treat hepatitis C. It has a 79 percent cure rate.

Avita Community Partners

Drugs and alcohol. They’re serious addictions. People with addictive diseases are stigmatized, some say they suffer discrimination. Unlike heart disease or diabetes, addictive diseases are not seen as a medical condition. Avita is changing that, with its caring philosophy and dynamic peer-support groups. In April 2011, it opened one of the state’s few Crisis Stabilization Units for people with mental illness. Since it’s opened, it’s remained full, a testament to the mental health problem. Avita also provides services to youths and teens with drug addiction through its Gainesville Clubhouse.

Alpine started working with this amazing organization in March and has reached out to local media in Atlanta and North Georgia. From the AJC to the Gainesville Times, we’re spreading awareness of the incredible services this organization offers.

Atlanta 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer

Alpine Communications has been working with the Atlanta 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer since 2005. Over the past two years, we have secured hundreds of media placements, resulting in over 1 million media impressions and more than $1 million in advertising equivalency. Placements include the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Atlanta Business Chronicle, 11Alive, WSB-TV, FOX5 Atlanta, CBS 46, Skirt!, New You, Points North, Neighbor Newspapers, Creative Loafing, AJC Gwinnett, and the list goes on.

Alpine Communications also created and implemented an Awards Program and Speaker’s Bureau for Randi Passoff, founder and executive director.

In 2008, we created MySpace and Facebook pages, furthering the 2-Day Walk’s viral marketing campaign.

National Association of Chronic Disease Directors

Alpine Communications created the first external communications program for the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors (NACDD). We created a press kit and media relations campaign, including development of a national consumer awareness survey that garnered significant national media placements.
